How old the stars of ‘Stranger Things’ are compared to their characters

The young stars of Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things” are starting to age past their fictional counterparts on the show. Both Sadie Sink (who plays Max) and Caleb McLaughlin, for example, are 17 years old while their characters are meant to be about 14 and just starting high school.

Keep reading to see how each of the teenage characters on “Stranger Things” differ in age from the actors who play them.

Actress Millie Bobby Brown is 15 years old, while her character Eleven should be about 14 on the show.

Millie Bobby Brown on Stranger Things

When Eleven was first introduced on the show, we didn’t know her exact age — only that her mother had been trying to find her for about 12 years.

Now that about two years have passed, that would mean Eleven is approximately 14 years old.

Finn Wolfhard is now 16 years old, though his character Mike Wheeler is meant to be around 14.

Finn Wolfhard

Like Eleven, Mike and his friends should all be just about 14 years old. They graduated from middle school between seasons two and three, and are just about to start high school on “Stranger Things.”

Noah Schnapp is currently 14 years old — the same age as Will Byers on “Stranger Things.”

Noah Schnapp

Of all the actors and their fictional counterparts, Schnapp is closest matched with his character.

Caleb McLaughlin is 17 years old, while Lucas is around 14.

Caleb McLaughlin

Just like the rest of the friend group, Lucas is about to start his freshman year of high school on “Stranger Things.” But McLaughlin is almost 18, and was the first of his costars to get a driver’s license.

Twelve-year-old Priah Ferguson plays Lucas’ 10-year-old sister, Erica.

Priah Ferguson

Erica is heading into middle school, taking over the role of youngest nerd on “Stranger Things” now that the boys have aged up.

Sadie Sink is 17 years old while her character is around 14.

Sadie Sink

Just like the young actor who plays her on-screen boyfriend, Caleb McLaughlin, Sink is a bit older than her other teen costars on “Stranger Things.”

Dacre Montgomery, 24, plays Max’s brother Billy, a recent high school graduate.

Dacre Montgomery

Billy arrived to Hawkins and joined the other older teens in high school last season. We’re pretty sure he was in Steve Harrington’s grade, which means he would’ve graduated just before the start of “Stranger Things 3” and is around 18 years old.

Gaten Matarazzo is 16 years old, and plays 14-year-old Dustin Henderson.

Gaten Matarazzo

Once again, Dustin should be around 14 on the third season of “Stranger Things” as he heads into high school for the first time.

Joe Keery is 27, while his character Steve Harrington just finished high school and is about 18 years old.

Joe Keery

Keery’s character Steve has become friends with the younger teens on the show and looks after them. In real life, the actor is a decade older than all of his costars.

“Stranger Things” newcomer Maya Hawke is 21 years old, and plays 18-year-old Robin.

Maya Hawke

Like Steve Harrington, Robin’s character just finished high school and is therefore around 18 years old.

Twenty-two-year-old Natalia Dyer plays high school senior Nancy Wheeler.

Natalia Dyer

Nancy is just about to start her final year of high school, which means she’s around 17 or 18 — about five years younger than the actress in real life.

Charlie Heaton is 25 years old, while his character Jonathan Byers is about 17 years old.

Charlie Heaton

Heaton and Dyer are dating in real life, just like their fictional counterparts on “Stranger Things.” Heaton is about eight years older than the character he plays on the show, though.

Supernatural Will End with Season 15, Cast Shares Emotional Message to Fans

Supernatural will officially come to a close after Season 15 wraps. Stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins shared an emotional video message to fans announcing the news. The hit show is the CW’s longest-running series and it just celebrated after hitting the 300-episode mark. By the time that the series concludes, it will have a grand total of 327 episodes, since Season 15 will consist of 20 episodes.

Jared Padalecki is visibly trying to hold back tears as he, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins make the announcement. Padalecki started the video by saying that they wanted Supernatural fans to hear it from them first before they heard it from anywhere else. Ackles goes on to say that they just informed the crew that they are excited to start Season 15, but that it will sadly be the last. You can read Padalecki’s caption for the video below.

“Hey #Supernatural family here’s a little message from Jensen Ackles Misha Collins and me. I’m so grateful for the family that’s been built because of the show. Excuse me while I go cry.”

Supernatural Television Show Cast

Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins did not give a reasoning behind Supernaturalending, but it has been a long and great road for everybody involved. 15 seasons is a lot and seems like a good number to go out on. However, fans will more than likely be devastated. Executive producers Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb released a statement about the show ending, which you can read below.

“Firstly, we would like to thank all the people who have been involved with the show both in front of and behind the camera. For us it has been an experience of a lifetime. The support we have had from both Warner Bros Television and The CW has been incredible. We’d like to give special thanks to Jensen, Jared and Misha for making this journey so special. It is now most important to us to give these characters that we love the sendoff they deserve.”

Supernatural has been a consistent hit since it arrived back in 2005 on the WB network from creator Eric Kripke. The series follows the Winchester brothers as they hunt demons, ghosts, monsters, and other supernatural beings and it has gained an intense cult following over the years. Not bad for a show that Kripke only envisioned going for a full three seasons and then calling it quits.

Eric Kripke departed after Supernatural Season 5, but like everybody that comes and goes from the show, he has remained a big part of the family. Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently came back for the 300th episode and it was a huge deal for the actor and the cast and crew, not to mention the fans, who freaked out when it was revealed. With that being said, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins are saving the emotion for Season 15, so expect a ton of crazy surprises that only the Winchester brothers can provide.

Melissa Benoist Shows Off New Supergirl Costume For Season 5, And That’s Not All

Melissa Benoist

Believe it or not, Supergirl is heading into its fifth season. The adventures of Kara Danvers have been unique among the heroes of the Arrow-verse thanks to her setting on Earth-38, and she’s also had a super-suit that stands out from the rest.

Why? Because it didn’t involve pants. That and more about her look are changing for Season 5, as Melissa Benoist revealed via social media:

Melissa Benoist as Supergirl

Did somebody tell the Girl of Steel that Batwoman got arguably the coolest super-suit in the Arrow-verse, and she realized she was due for an update? After all, both Oliver and Barry on Arrow and The Flash have gone through multiple costume updates while Kara’s been stuck in her skirt for her heroics most of the time.

Now, she gets pants! And bangs!

Melissa Benoist didn’t include any comments in her Instagram post of the new Supergirl suit, but I think the pants emoji followed by no fewer than four exclamation points is proof that she’s excited about the changes! She has gotten a taste of fighting as Supergirl in pants a few times over the years, notably in Season 4 thanks to the Red Daughter arc.

All things considered, the new look isn’t all that different from her previous look, other than the switch to pants and addition of bangs. I’m kind of curious if both Kara and Supergirl will visibly have bangs in Season 5. We’ve always had to suspend our disbelief that nobody recognized Kara as Supergirl just because of a different hairstyle and change of glasses, but might some people notice if both Kara and the Girl of Steel show up with bangs at the same time?

Probably not, but what’s summer hiatus for if not speculating?

After recently wrapping The Big Bang Theory,Johnny Galecki is hoping to revive another one of his favorite sitcom characters.

The actor is teasing a return to The Conners as David Healy, the on-and-off boyfriend of Sara Gilbert’s Darlene Conner, for season 2 of the ABC comedy. Galecki originated the character on the show’s predecessor, Roseanne.

“I may be putting the (literal/figurative) pants of #davidhealy back on for one or two more stories on @theconnersabc this year,” Galecki said on Instagram on Sunday, along with a photo of himself on the show with costars Gilbert and Laurie Metcalf. “Twenty some years later I’m still in awe of this freak ass carnie group who adopted me early on and still learn so very much from them whenever in their presence. ❤️”

‘Family Ties’ Cast, Where Are They Now?

‘Family Ties was arguably one of the funniest 80’s sitcoms. When CBS passed on the show it was picked up by NBC and ran for 7 seasons, from 1982 to 1989. The Emmy Award-winning show centered on the lives of Steven and Elyse Keaton, ex-hippies, raising their family in suburban Ohio during the Reagan administration.

Michael Gross

Michael Gross

Michael Gross played the role of Steven Keaton which automatically put him on the map. After the show, he continued to work with castmates. He appeared in Spin City, with Meredith Baxter as Michael J Fox‘s father. In the 2000s, he played the father of lead character, Ted Mosby, for several episodes of “How I Met Your Mother”.

Meredith Baxter

Meredith Baxter

Meredith Baxter was the first to be cast for the show and portrayed family matriarch, Elyse Keaton. On the show, Tom Hanks played her younger brother in a few episodes and after that… well, we all know how much of a mega start he is now. After the show, she appeared on Spin City in 1997 aside Michael J. Fox as his mother. More recently, she was on Glee, The Young and the Restless, and has released a memoir. She is married to longtime partner, Nancy Locke.

Michael J. Fox

Michael J. Fox from Family Ties

Michael J. Fox, the obvious breakout star from the show, as was Alex P. Keaton, a fiery conservative and young republican. Still a fairly unknown actor, Fox was almost passed up for the role because they weren’t sure if he was good looking enough to ‘have his face on a lunchbox’. Although he was given the role after Matthew Broderick was unavailable, he ultimately became the reason Family Ties won 3 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Safe to say the show launched his career.  Following were hits such as Back to the Future, Teen Wolf, Stuart Little and his own show, The Michael J. Fox Show He married co-star and love interest in Family Ties earlier seasons, actress, Tracy Pollan.

Justine Batemen

Justine Bateman Family Ties

Justine Batemen was 4 months into her acting career when she landed the role as the lovable, pop culture obsessed Mallory Keaton. For the role, she was nominated for two Emmy’s and a Golden Globe. Throughout her career, she guest-starred on CalifornicationPsychThe Closer and even on her brother, Jason Bateman’s show, Arrested Development. She enrolled at UCLA in the late 2000s and earned a degree in Digital Media Management and Computer science.

Scott Valentine

Scott Valentine

The love interest of Mallory, was Nick Moore, an environmental artist. The role was played by actor Scott Valentine. He attempted 3 different spins off series from this show, all of which fails. He did end up with multiple tv series guest spots on Murder, She WroteCSI: NY, and movies including Double ObsessionParanoia and To Sleep with a Vampire.

Tina Yothers

Tina Yothers

Tina Yothers was the second to the youngest child in the Keaton family, the tomboy-ish Jennifer Keaton. She was 9 years old when she landed the role. Her career, however, began in commercials when she was 3. She made a band with her brother, “Jaded” in the late 1990s. In the 2000’s she made her way back to TV with appearances on Celebrity Wife Swap, What Not To Wear, and Desperate Housewives.

Brian Bonsall

Brian Bonsall
Brian Bonsall then & now

Andy Keaton, played by Brian Bonsall, was born the year before the show began and joined the show in season 5 as the baby of 4 kids. He won three Young Artists Awards for it and became a “go-to” child star. He later starred in a horror film, Mikey in 1991 as well as Blank Check, and Star Trek: The Next Generation, as Alexander Rozhenko. By 1995 he’d retired from acting and moved to Colorado. There, he attended high school and started playing in punk bands. Two of which were Stuntdoubles and Thruster.

Courtney Cox

Courtney Cox Family Ties

Courtney Cox made one of her first roles in television as Lauren Miller, Alex’s girlfriend for the last two seasons of Family Ties. She earned the role and recognition as an actress after starring in Bruce Springsteen’s music video “Dancing in the Dark” in 1984. She went on to star as Monica Geller in Friends.

Tracy Pollan

Tracy Pollan

Tracy Pollan, real-life wife of Michael J. Fox, played an early girlfriend of Alex P. Keaton on the show. She made appearances on Spin City, Curb Your Enthusiasm, as well as an episode of The Michael J. Fox Show in 2013. The happy adorable couple is still married today.

Here’s the Family Ties cast reuniting to discuss the show a few years back. Safe to say they all look the same!

Who is Hosting the Emmy Awards This Year?

One of Hollywood’s biggest nights of the season is finally upon us: The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards. Stars from some of the some of the hottest shows on television will gather together at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles to celebrate a year of impeccable TV and visual storytelling on September 22. The program will air on Fox for the fourth consecutive year.

While there are a quite a few repeat players nominated at the 2019 Emmys, there will be some noticeable differences at the star studded event this year, primarily in regards to the show’s host. Taking a page out of the Academy Awards playbook, the Emmys will not have one specific host but rather give an onslaught of actors, directors and showrunners time on the stage. Movie buffs may recall the Oscars following a similar format during the awards show in February after Kevin Hart abandoned the position following backlash over homophobic comments he made several years ago.

Viola Davis, Stephen Colbert and Naomi Watts will be among the presenters at the 2019 Emmy Awards in September 22,

Instead of having a host, a number of celebrities have been enlisted to highlight nominees and present Emmy awards. The first set of presenters were revealed on Wednesday, according to a Deadline report. Stars expected to hand out awards include Michael Douglas, Viola Davis, Zendaya, Angela Bassett and Peter Krause, Stephen Colbert, Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, Billy Porter and Naomi Watts.

Alfonso Ribeiro sues Fortnite over the ‘Carlton dance’

“Fresh Prince of Bel Air” star Alfonso Ribeiro is suing the makers of the video game Fortnite for allegedly stealing his “Carlton dance.”

Ribeiro, who played the character Carlton Banks in the 90s sitcom, alleges the “Fresh emote” dance done by characters in Fortnite is a rip off of his famous moves on the show.

In a statement, a lawyer for Ribeiro said his dance is intellectual property that Epic Games stole without asking him.

“Epic has earned record profits off of downloadable content in the game, including emotes like “Fresh,” attorney David Hecht told NBC. “Yet Epic has failed to compensate or even ask permission from Mr. Ribeiro for the use of his likeness and iconic intellectual property.”

Earlier this month, a Brooklyn rapper also sued Epic Games for allegedly stealing a dance that he popularized.

Overhaul ahead for ‘CBS This Morning’ amid network turmoil

Amid the sprawling crisis at CBS, Page Six is told that network execs are ready to nuke its struggling morning show and rebuild it from the ground up.

A thriving “CBS This Morning” was thrown into disarray by Charlie Rose’s sudden exit — and we’re told that top brass have come to believe that the show overall is not going to recover.

Rose was brought down by sexual misconduct allegations in November 2017, leaving Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell as anchors. They were later joined by John Dickerson.

But the impressive momentum that King, O’Donnell and Dickerson developed quickly faltered. “There are real discussions about just starting over — anchors, format, producers. Everything is on the table,” said an insider.

The news comes as the show’s executive producer, Ryan Kadro, is negotiating his exit.
